Concrete brise-soleil on the façade of a modern art exhibition building architectural concrete, “Screen” design

Date et catégories :

Design office work: A lot of work, as the surfaces could not be developed from the 3D plan supplied by the customer, all the sections were changing and rotating, and the geometry was very complex.

A lot of boiler-making and finishing work for these architectural pieces, which have to come out of the mold flawless.

Type of demoulding: Precast mould with deferred demoulding – self-compacting concrete

Simultaneous production quantity: 1 piece per day.

Technical difficulties:

There are small bending radii to make the S and a modification of the cross-section throughout the part.

What’s more, the parts are bolted together, so the precision of the parts produced by the molds must be high.

Boilermaking work is complicated by non-developable surfaces and the need for precision on large toroidal parts.
